Squigs Pens a High Society Sketch of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812

Everyone’s been talking about the innovative new musical Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, so it was only right that we enlist our extraordinary artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson to offer up his own take on the crowdpleasing tuner. The show stars Phillipa Soo and David Abeles (pictured above, with the ferocious ensemble behind them) as the titular characters, both ripped from a most scandalous slice of Leo Tolstoy’s masterpiece War and Peace. If your interest is piqued by Squigs’ artwork, head down to the pop-up tent Kazino in New York’s Meatpacking District, specifically built for audiences to fully immerse themselves in this unforgettable show and feast their eyes on a truly spectacular Comet.



About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
